Poole Harbour Canoe Club

Updated 28th January 2010

The project makes use of the derelict swimming bath plot beside Poole Park lake.

Work is due to start in the next few weeks at the Park Lake Road site where Poole Harbour Canoe Club are to set up a new placid water base.

The large conifers fronting the site are due to be removed early in February, prior to the delivery of two steel cabins that will then be clad in timber and roofed.

Work will then progress to fit out a changing room complete with toilet and hand wash facilities.  Other space will provide storage for canoes and equipment.

The plot will be landscaped, with new gates and railings installed, followed by some tree planting next winter (2010/11).

The new facilities are important to club members in their pursuit of sporting qualifications, and with their training for national and international competitions.
