Poole Harbour Canoe Club

Updated 22nd October 2010

This project would make use of the derelict swimming bath plot beside Poole Park lake, at the end of Park Lake Road, where Poole Harbour Canoe Club propose to set up a new placid water centre.

The proposals

Work is on-going to provide a lease for Poole Harbour Canoe Club and attract the final funding required to satisfy the various planning permission constraints and building control measures.  Once all the factors are in place Leisure Services plan to take delivery of two steel cabins that would then be clad in timber and roofed.

The cabins would be fitted out as a changing room complete with toilet and hand wash facilities, with other space providing storage for canoes and equipment.

The plot would be landscaped, with new gates and railings installed, and tree planting.

The new facilities are important to club members in their pursuit of sporting qualifications, and with their training for national and international competitions.
