Latest: as a result of the announcement from the Secretary of State for Education, we regret that no further progress can be made on this project at this time.

  • Note (29th June): there is no truth in the rumour that a skateboard park is being considered for this site; the design for play can be viewed below

  • Note (11th June): it seems there is a local rumour circulating that claims the play improvements won't go ahead at Broadstone Rec due to recent incidents of anti-social behaviour.

  • A Playbuilder leaflet has been distributed to all properties within 200m of the play area, and is available from Broadstone library

  • On 19th May the Playbuilder team met with residents and users to ensure the design meets local needs and expectations

  • Initial designs were discussed during a return visit to the site on 16th June

  • The design can also be viewed by clicking on the link below (PDF, 1.6MB, opens in a new window):

  • Sutcliffe Play of Broadstone has been employed to finalise designs and carry out the installation work on this project.  The company also worked with the Playbuilder team to consult local children.
