  • OFFICIALLY OPENED by the Mayor of Poole, Councillor Charles Meachin, on Monday 15th February 2010

Four new pieces of equipment have been installed, three in the original play area for 8-13 yr olds - a Cone Climber, Buddy Swing, Gyrospiral (a bouncy spinning see-saw) and, in the grass on the other side of the footpath, a 30m long Aerial Cableway.

Older equipment has been given a coat of paint, and we have removed several yellow "swing barriers" (they were unnecessary); barriers behind the swings remain to help protect users from ball games.  Of the original equipment, only the old 'Buckabout' was removed.

The improved play area re-opened 23rd December.  In March we will be back to install new seating and a litter bin.

Ideas were drawn up in August based around the wishes expressed by young people. and work started on site on Monday 16th November.  We expected the project to take 3 weeks but unfortunately the site became so wet and boggy that everything took a lot longer than normal.
